motleygolf has given you is exceptional, if you notice very little of his advice revolves around learning "stuff".
If you look at definition of "Mentor" you'll find:
"An experienced and trusted advisor who advises or trains"
There is maybe an implication or expectation that technical learning will be part of the relationship, but ultimately the mentor's role is to help you up-skill and get you functioning at a higher level. Their role is to mentor you through your journey and experiences, so you are able to deliver on your role more effectively. The technical learnings are a very small part of this.
In answer to your question I think you are looking for both someone with the experience in your chosen field AND one with the skills you admire.
