Lie change is actually one of the biggest factors in how difficult shots become hence the resulting difference between the two shots. What this means is that the shot you previously hit is affected by the end lie. If you had gone into a bunker but only a foot off the green, you would have seen an even lower score.

Hi Team. I'm trying to enter a round from this past weekend. All shots on all holes are entered ok, and I hit 'save'.

'Clippd Capture' then tells me:

Unusual Data Points. Please edit the following for a valid round. Please check the hole yardage is correct on hole 2 ... with a pencil icon for editing.

I've checked the yardage of the hole and all entries for that hole. All are correct.

Unfortunately, there were many shots INCLUDING a 'lost ball' from the tee, where I went back to play my third. Does this 'Lost Ball' play a role? My son has had a similar issue before with 'Clippd Capture' and a 'Lost Ball'? I tried with 'went back and played again' and also 'took a drop' ... both gave me the same message.

Currently I am not able to save the round in 'Clippd Capture'.

Please help.

Sorry to hear you're encountering the issue. This is with the team and as soon as I have an update I'll let you know!

@Josh So perhaps this is the result of Arccos saying this was in the rough and there not being an option for "fringe"? I would agree had the shot ended up in long grass, but just being on the fringe doesn't introduce much more in the way of difficulty.

Thanks for bearing with us. The issue should be resolved now. It looks like there was a network error at the time which meant some shots weren't uploaded properly. If you check your Clippd account you should hopefully see the round.

I hope you can help me understand something. The app has consistently rated OTT:Other as the most important factor in my game and the top area for recommended improvement. This seems odd as I rarely ever hit anything but driver off the tee (you can see how few shots I have in this category in the dataset - about one per round). How is it that a shot that is so infrequent could be at the top of my list?

I've been able to speak with the Data Science team who have let me know the following.Importance to scoring is calculated by measuring what areas of your game are most closely linked with changes in your scoring. Therefore it is possible for your OTT Other to have high importance to scoring if strong play in OTT Other is predictive of low scoring and vice versa.

However, to have a category as No. 1 in terms of Importance is very rare when you have as little shots in that category as you do. With that in mind, they're going to take a look at the calculations as a whole and review.
